 Sometimes, you go out and test the set up, prior to shooting. Lenses, lights, reflectors and distance are all important variables to study carefully. Here I am in my backyard, with camera, tripod. and my faith puppet which set up anytime I am testing. If you look carefully, on the left you can see Nicky!... no comments  Having a day off with my wife and Aunt, the water jug caught my eye. Eating out on a bright sunny day, I only had my iPhone with which to capture these forms and colors. Share | no comments  Portraits are often best shot in the evening or early mornings. However, soft light can mean the backgrounds might be too light and the foreground too dark. The only way to control light is to separate out the back from the front lit subject.
